Why do I get an error message that says that I am not an authorized user on my own site?

There are two instances in which you would get a message telling you that you are not an authorized user on your site:

First, your site's hosting fees may be long overdue and as a consequence, your account may have been temporarily suspended

The second instance in which this would happen is when you do not have an index.html or index.htm file in your site's root directory. Note, file names are case sensitive on web servers. That means that INDEX.HTM is different from index.htm. So, if you are sure that you have an index.htm file, verify that it is written in lowercase letters. Valuable hint: we recommend that you always name all your web files using lowercase letters - a web convention
